Lotus Healthcare wishes to increase its number of products and invites contact
from Companies wishing to expand their interest into China.
Products of particular interest include narcotic and non narcotic pain medicine
(current Weihai licenses include morphine, dihydrocodeine and hydrocodone);
naloxone and naltrexone formulations, and ethical generic products. The China
Government have recently introduced a contributory Government sponsored health
insurance system aimed at helping the less developed areas of China. An astounding
number amounting to some 410 million farmers have signed up for the system and
this is only 47% of the rural population. Each person contributes 10 RMB per
year to which the Government adds at least 20 RMB. In 2008 the system raised 21
billion RMB and spent over 15 billion RMB on healthcare! This initiative will
undoubtedly increase the business opportunity for high quality low cost generic
medicines.
